Holidays In Greece
Greece's appeal is both cultural and hedonistic. Its physical beauty, hot climate, warm seas and the easy going mentality of its people guarantee a relaxing holiday in Greece. That is one good reason to travel to Greece.
High season in Greece starts from late June until September, this period is the most crowded of the year. December to March is the coldest and wettest months with reduced public transportation and many closed hotels and restaurants. Spring from late April to May is one of the loveliest times to visit, sunny weather but not very hot. For a care free holiday adopt people's attitude of easygoing-ness and bear in mind that everything closes after lunch for a few hours. Tourist information is available at most places either in the form of EOT tourism offices (National tourism Organization) or local tourist police or travel agencies. Opening times tend to vary from place to place and season to season. State run museums open from 08.00 to 15.00; major museums stay open until 19.00. Mondays and main public holidays are closing times for the museums. The English language newspaper Athens News includes in their pages the events that take place all over Greece.
