You can get to Milos Island by plane or by ferry. Early booking is recommended (especially for airplane reservations as there are two routes daily from Athens airport and lasts 45 minutes) in high season (July & August). Getting to the Island by ferry, the trip duration is approximately 7 hours and 4 hours and 20 minutes by catamaran from Piraeus port. Tourists can use ferries and get to Milos Island via nearby Islands such as Sifnos, Serifos, Sikinos, Folegandros, Santorini and Kimolos but consider there are not daily connections for all the Islands.
Concerning the local transport, roads are very good and a well organized buses network is served. There are frequent bus routes (Tel. 0030-2287022445) from Adamas port to Triovassalos, Plaka, Tripiti, Pollonia, Paliochori, Hivadolimni and Provatas and the tickets are cheap. If you preferred to get a taxi there are stations in Adamas (Tel. 0030-2287022219) and Triovassalos (Tel. 0030-2287021306). Rates are fixed every year and different from low to high season. People who do not have their own car can rent (prices start from 35euros per day in middle season) one at the Island as it is the quickest way to get around.
